India’s biggest e-commerce group Flipkart appointed Kalyan Krishnamurthy as its new CEO, by replacing co-founder Binny Bansal on Monday.
Kalyan Krishnamurthy joined the organization in the year 2016 and since then he is being deeply devoted towards the company’s process. He was hired by the largest investor Tiger Global which is a New York-based investment firm.
Flipkart Group CEO Binny said in a statement, “We are now ready to build the Flipkart in the future as we continue on our journey of transforming commerce in India through technology. I am confident that this new organizational structure will deliver further value for Flipkart group”.
However, Sachin Bansal the other co-founder of the Flipkart will continue to be the executive chairman.
The statement further said, “Kalyan Krishnamurthy is currently heading the Category Design Organisation, will become the CEO of Flipkart. Kalyan will be responsible for operationally driving Flipkart and will be responsible for Flipkart P&L”.
