A special TADA court has pronounced its verdict in the 1993 Mumbai blasts and awarded gangster Abu Salem with life imprisonment, whereas Riyaz Siddiqui has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in connection with 1993 Mumbai Blasts on Thursday.
It was reported that Tahir Merchant and Feroz Khan was awarded death sentence in the 1993 Mumbai Blasts.
On the other hand, the other in the 1993 Mumbai Blasts Riyaz Siddiqui has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment.
The court said in its order, “Feroz is not Hamza as claimed by him. He is the same Feroz Abdul Rashid Khan, who was declared a proclaimed offender, in this case, is 1993”.
According to reports, the 1993 Mumbai Blasts killed 257 and injured 713 people in the incident.
The court said in its order, “vital towards the achievement of the conspiracy so that the weapons could be used to terrorize and torment innocent citizens of India”.
It was learned that all the accused has been sentenced for different offenses.
The court said in its order that all punishments will run simultaneously.
Ujjwal Nikam, Public Prosecutor said in a statement, “Convicts will get set-off for the time they have served in jail”.
