A 35-year-old woman was found murdered after allegedly being raped in a flat in Bhopal on Thursday.
The autopsy report said that beer and soft drink bottles were found inserted in her private parts. The doctors also found a head injury and suspect that her head was banged against a wall.
The woman, Mala Mewada has been identified as a resident of Icchawar town in Sehore district was living with his husband in a rented accommodation in the Pragati Nagar locality of Bhopal.
Ashoka Garden town inspector Sunil Shrivastava said, “The house in which the woman had been living for the past few months was owned by a man who lives in Saudi Arabia.”
“The woman mostly stayed at home, the man is said to be a laborer,” he added.
The police told the media that the woman was found naked and her body was partly decomposed suggesting the murdered took place a few days ago.
The police so far have arrested her husband, Rajaram Mewada, 45 who had earlier been absconding. The man has told the cops that the deceased woman was his fourth wife and while his first two wives had left him. His third wife had died under mysterious circumstances.
The couple had been living together for last 9 years.
People who knew the couple have told the police that the husband used to suspect the woman of having an affair with the neighbor who has also been missing.
The MP state capital, Bhopal has infamously been at the center of several rape cases. Last year, the gang-rape of 19-year-old UPSC aspirant sparked heavy outrage.
A murder case has been filed.
