A 23-year-old man was accidentally shot dead by his 17-year old cousin in New Delhi while taking selfies.
The incident took place on Thursday evening in South Delhi area near Sarita Vihar when the victim came to his aunt’s house and in the evening both cousins decided to take the selfies together.
The accused hold the loaded pistol while taking a selfie and accidentally pressed the trigger of the pistol and fires off. After which the victim was taken to the Apollo hospital where doctors declared him dead due to bullet injury.
The victim has been identified as Prashant Chauhan, a 23-year-old man who was employed as a school teacher in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh and was residing in Shahdara.
The minor boy who is a student of class 11 in a prominent school shot his cousin by a licensed pistol which belonged to his father, who is a property dealer.
According to the police they received the call on Thursday, around 6:45 pm in the evening from the hospital’s end where they were informed about a man brought injured with a gun bullet after which a team reached the hospital and sent the body for the postmortem to start the probe.
The police officer also added that the case has been registered against the accused and also a strict action would be taken against his father as well to allow his minor to use the loaded gun.
