Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia was appointed as the party’s Punjab in-charge on Tuesday.
It was reported that the post was lying vacant since Sanjay Singh resigned as Punjab in-charge following the Delhi municipal elections.
The party said that the decision to appoint Sisodia as Punjab unit in-charge was made after a meeting of the Political Affairs Committee.
The AAP tweeted, “Political Affairs Committee has appointed senior party leader and deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia as prabhari (in-charge) of Punjab”.
It was learned that in the state municipal elections, AAP won only one ward out of the total 414 wards on Sunday.
The Congress party won 267 wards and got the victory by gaining 20 out of 29 Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats.
