IT department conducted raid at G. Janardhana Reddy’s mining firm on Monday at Karnataka’s Bellary city.
Raid comes after his daughter’s 5 days extravaganza wedding in Bengaluru on November 16 which has raised a lot of controversies at the time when country is facing cash crunch due to change in its financial system. It was on November 8, 2016 government announced demolishing of Rs 1000 and Rs 500 old currency notes.
The raids are being conducted in the offices of Obulapuram Mining Company and Associated Mining Company. IT officials also visited approximately ten locations of event management companies; 7 in Bengaluru and 3 in Hyderabad which was given contract of catering, decoration and other arrangements related to wedding.
There are chances of Mr. Reddy’s house can be raid. Reddy is former BJP Minister who is also accused for charges of corruption over illegal mining of iron ore in the district.
Reddy has been out on bail since January 2015 and was only last month allowed by the apex court to visit his place from November 1 to 21 because of his daughter’s wedding.
Once again Reddy is in spotlight because of throwing big fat wedding in the time when country is facing cash crunch.
