In a major blow, a top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Abu Ismail, the mastermind of bloodletting of Amarnath pilgrims has been allegedly killed by the security forces o Thursday evening.
Jammu and Kashmir police chief SP Vaid said in a statement,“Main accused of the Amarnath Yatra attack Abu Ismail along with his associate Abu Kasim has been eliminated in Nowgam”.
It was reported that the Government forces tracked the Abu Ismail’s phone number and allegedly gunned down the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists near Jammu and Kashmir’s Nowgam sector on Thursday.
Both of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist, Abu Ismail and his associate Abu Kasim was hiding in Nowgam sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
Following the killing of the Lashkar-e-Taiba’s top commander Abu Ismail, Srinagar authorities have imposed the restrictions in some parts of the city to prevent protests over the killing of the terrorist.
It was learned that Abu Ismail was the mastermind of the massacre of Amarnath pilgrims which took place on July 10.
A Jammu and Kashmir police official said in a statement, “Restrictions under Section 144 of the CrPc have been imposed to maintain law and order”.
Officials told the media all school, colleges have been closed for safety reasons.
Following this, train services have also been suspended between Baramulla and Bannihal.
However, senior police officials have admitted that there is still a large number of militants operating in the state.
