After being threatened by the Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for hurting sentiments of the people by selling Indian flag emblem printed on the doormat, the online e-commerce giant Amazon apologized to the Sushma Swaraj on Thursday.
Amazon India expressed regret over its Canada’s website selling off the doormat with printed Indian national flag.
In a letter to the Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for apologizing on the matter, Amit Agarwal, Amazon India vice president wrote, “Amazon India is committed to respecting Indian laws and customs. To the extent that these items offered by a third-party seller in Canada offended Indian sensibilities, Amazon regrets the same. At no time did we intend or mean to offend Indian sentiments”.

Earlier, on Wednesday Sushma Swaraj demands an unconditional apology from e-commerce giant Amazon and strictly said on Twitter – “If this is not done forthwith, we will not grant Indian Visa to any Amazon official. We will also rescind the Visas issued earlier”.
