Amid speculation over Sasikala Natrajan’s swearing-in ceremony

Since the news about Sasikala Natarajan to take over as the Chief Minister has come into the limelight, amid speculation has being made over her swearing ceremony.

Sasikala Natarajan, alias Chinnamma’s swearing -in ceremony has been delayed due to a corruption case in which she and Late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa were allegedly accused.

As earlier swearing ceremony of Sasikala Natarajan was scheduled on February 7, later it was deferred to February 9, yet there is no official announcement has been made till now.

According to the sources, Tamil Nadu Governor Vidyasagar Rao has canceled the scheduled ceremony and he is going to Mumbai instead of Chennai. It is also reported, he examines the legal implication of the development, as she is accused in a corruption case.

On Monday, a petition had been filed in the Supreme Court to hold on the swearing-in ceremony of Sasikala Natrajan.

The petition was registered by Tamil Nadu-based lawyer, Senthil Kumar which states that the State would witness riots if Sasikala.

It also asserted that Tamil Nadu is already facing the crisis due to cyclone, demonetisation, and death J Jayalalithaa so no other problems should be created.

Sasikala Natarajan was recently appointed as the Legislature party leader after the sudden demise of J Jayalalithaa and will succeed O panneerselvam.

O panneerselvam resigned from the post of Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister on Monday.
