Anil Baijal takes oath as Lieutenant Governor of Delhi at Raj Niwas

Anil Baijal takes oath as Lieutenant Governor of Delhi at Raj Niwas on Saturday. Oath was administered by Delhi HC Chief Justice G Rohini.

On December 28, Mr Baijal was officially appointed as Delhi Lt Governor, the post which had been vacant after the sudden resignation of Najeeb Jang.

Anil Baijal is a 1969 batch IAS officer and served as a Union Home Secretary during the reign of Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.

When UPA government came into power in 2004, he had been shifted to the Urban Development Ministry. In October 2006, Mr. Baijal retired from the post of secretary of Urban Development Ministry.
