Bengaluru Molestation: Karnataka Home Minister and SP’s Abu Azmi summoned by NCW

On Tuesday, National Commission for Women summoned Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara and Samajwadi party leader Abu Azmi over their controversial statements on Bengaluru Mass Molestation incident.

After Karnataka Home Minister, G Parameshwar, “these things do happen on New Year’s Eve and Christmas and that they do take a lot of precautions” statement, SP leader Abu Azmi blamed western culture and short dresses for the disgraceful incident took place on the streets of Bengaluru on the occasion of New Year ’s Eve.

Mr Azmi said “In these modern times, the more women are naked, the more fashionable, modern and educated they are considered. And this is increasing in the country. This is a blot on our culture.”

Following this, NCW Chief Lalitha Kumaramangalam said that “they have sent summons to Home Minister G Parameshwara and Samajwadi party leader Abu Azmi for their statements” on Bengaluru mass molestation incident.
