In an astonishing event, a 98-year-old man has cleared his MA (economics) examination from the Nalanda Open University (NOU) in Patna on Monday.
The 98-year-old man was identified as Kumar Vaishya, who completed his postgraduation after 79 years of his graduation from Agra University in the year 1938.
The 98-year-old Kumar Vaishya hails from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh. Vaishya passes MA (economics) examination with second division.
Kumar Vaishya said in a statement, “Finally, I have fulfilled my long cherished dream. Now I am a postgraduate. I decided to prove two years ago that even at this age, one can fulfill their dreams and achieve anything. I am an example”.
Vaishya lives with his son in Rajendra Nagar Colony, Patna.
He said, “It was really difficult for me to wake up early to prepare for the exams”.
It was reported that Vaishya can read and write both Hindi and English language without the help of glasses.
He was born in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh on April 1, 1920, where he completed his graduation from Agra University and got a law degree in the year 1940.
Vaishya’s son told the reporters, “It’s a proud moment for us”.
Previously this year, Vaishya was featured in Limca Book of Records as the oldest man to apply for the postgraduate degree.
