At least five workers reportedly died and seven are severely injured after a boiler exploded at the Sasa Musa sugar mill in Bihar’s Gopalganj district in the wee hours of Thursday morning.
The incident took place in Ki Chaukor area of the district.
It was reported at least 100 of labourers were on their duty when the boiler exploded in the mill.
Following the mishap, the owner of the mill was arrested by the police.
The National Human Rights Commission had issued a notice to the Uttar Pradesh government following the deaths.
Shashi Kant Mishra said, “The condition of all the 9 workers who have been brought to the hospital is extremely serious. We have referred three of them to Patna”.
Although, the reason behind the blast is yet to be ascertained.
