In a shocking incident, Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader from Bihar has allegedly accused of killing his daughter-in-law for dowry in Muzaffarnagar district.

The accused was identified as JD-U leader Arun Kushwaha by the authorities.

It was reported that JD-U leader Arun Kushwaha along with his wife and son were involved in killing his daughter-in-law Reena Devi in the dowry case.

“A FIR has been lodged against Arun Kushwaha, his wife, and son for killing Reena Devi for dowry and police have begun an investigation into it”.

The deceased who was identified as Reena Devi married Dipak Kumar (son of JD-U leader Arun Kushwaha) in the year 2015, and also had an 11-month-old child.

Reena’s father Mahesh Bhagat said in a statement, “We had given cash, jewelry, and other gift items at the time of marriage but my daughter’s in-laws were demanding a four-wheeled vehicle. When I expressed my inability, they started torturing my daughter to put pressure on me”.

While defending himself JD-U leader Arun Kushwaha declined all the allegations against him.

He said, “Reena was not well for last six months and she died after fasting on Durga Puja”.
