CBI Raids On P.Chidambaram & Son’s Krati Chidambaram: No Allegation against Me Said Former Union Minister

On Tuesday Morning, CBI raids on the residence of Former Union Minister P.Chidambaram and his son Krati Chidambaram. CBI conducted a raid at least 14 places including the residence of Chidambaram’s.

The CBI raid is in connection with the foreign items received by INX Media which was formerly owned by Peter Mukerjea.

There was no allegation against me and this was a government move to silence my voice said by P Chidambaram former union minister.

In a statement Chidambaram said:
The government, using the CBI and other agencies, is targeting my son and his friends. The government’s aim is to silence my voice and stop me from writing, as it has tried to do in the cases of leaders of Opposition parties, journalists, columnists, NGOs, and civil society organizations. All I will say is, I shall continue to speak and write.”

In this April the ED has issued a show cause notice to Krati Chidambaram and a firm which was linked to him for the violation of Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).It is reported to be worth of Rs.45 crore.The enforcement directorate than issue a notice towards P Chidambaram for approving an FIBP Approval in Aircel-Maxis Case.
