In a bizarre event, a girl born in Chhattisgarh’s Koriya district was named after the India’s biggest tax reform as ‘GST’.
Jagdish Prasad, father of the baby told the media, “The day Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced Goods and Service Tax (GST) reform as a tax revolution on July 1, my daughter was born. So I could not hold my excitement and named her GST to make this day a memorable one.”
Even Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje moved to Twitter to wish the new born good health and blessed her.

It was reported that the mother was admitted to the hospital following the labor pain in the morning around 8 am on June 30.
The reason behind choosing this name is said to be, as she born exactly on the same timing when President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were pressing the button to launch the biggest tax reform in India- ‘GST’.
