The veteran Congress leader ML Fotedar reportedly passes away in Gurugram on Thursday.
It was reported that Makhanlal Fotedar died at a hospital in Gurugram on Thursday evening.
While expressing condolences on the veteran leader’s death Congress President Sonia Gandhi said, “Fotedar was one of the guiding lights for the Congress and has left behind a void which can never be filled”.
It was learned that the Congress leader was a close associate of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi.
It was discovered that Makhanlal Fotedar was a member of Congress Working Committee (CW), and still remains a permanent invitee to the CWC.
Sonia Gandhi said, “in his long and active political career spanning over five decades, he tirelessly fought for the rights of people and served them with utmost integrity”.
Reports suggest that Congress leader Makhanlal Fotedar was a former member of Jammu and Kashmir assembly and also represented the Pahalgam constituency from the year 1967 to 1977.
