Delhi Airport: Passenger boarded flight carrying knife in handbag

In a bizarre incident, a man managed to board the Delhi-Goa SpiceJet flight SG 144 with a kitchen knife in his handbag after amid security present in the airport.

The incident took place on Thursday when a passenger boarded the Delhi-Goa SpiceJet flight with a knife in his hand bag.

Following this, the man announced the negligence of the India’s most sensitive airport as he wanted to expose the security at IGI airport, Delhi.

“The aircraft was at that point still on the ground. The SpiceJet staff immediately brought the matter to the attention of the CISF”.

While confirming the news, SpiceJet spokesman said in a statement, “A passenger on board SpiceJet flight SG 144 from Delhi to Goa on Thursday reported to the cabin crew that he had a kitchen knife in his hand baggage. The aircraft was at that point still on the ground. The SpiceJet staff immediately brought the matter to the attention of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)”.

The man handed over the gun to the Police personnel, an official said.

The flight was still on the ground when the man exposed the security of the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

It was discovered that the Union Minister Jitendra Singh was also traveling on the same flight.
