Delhi: British expat arrested for assaulting blind children

In a horrific act, a British expat was allegedly arrested for sexually assaulting visually impaired children in a South Delhi’s RK Puram area on Monday.

The incident took place in South Delhi’s National Association for the Blind in RK Puram where the accused was a frequent visitor to the Institute.

The accused was identified as Murray Ward (54), who hails from Gloucestershire, Police said.

Murray Ward was a frequent visitor to the National Association for the Blind (NAB) and also used to donate on regular intervals from over past nine years.

A police official said in a statement, “A PCR call was received at RK Puram police station on Sunday afternoon regarding sexual harassment of minor kids at the National Association for the Blind in Sector Five, RK Puram”.

The British expat who was identified as Murray Ward has worked for Indian telecoms company Sterlite Technologies till April this year in Gurugram.

The police officials told the media that they have received a complaint from the institute, following which the man was allegedly arrested from his apartment in Vasant Kunj.

However, a case has been registered under the sections of Pocso act (Protection of Children against Sexual Offences).
