Delhi: Woman gang-raped in Greater Noida

In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by a cab driver and his associate in Greater Noida.

It was reported that the woman allegedly took a taxi from Hauz Khas in south Delhi on Tuesday night.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Chinmoy Biswal said in a statement, “They threatened her and forcibly took her to a deserted place in Greater Noida and allegedly took turns to rape her on gunpoint”.

The woman hails from northwest Delhi’s Rohini area where she visited a temple in Uttar Pradesh and then left for her home to catch a bus from Sarai Kale Khan on Tuesday evening.

Following this, she missed her bus in Sarai Kale Khan, she then took a cab near Hauz Khas.

On her way to Rohini, the cab driver drove to Dhaula Kaun area, where his associate boarded the cab and allegedly misbehaved with her.

Adding further to this he said, “She said she took a cab from Ansal Plaza and was on her way to Rohini when the driver picked up another man. The two took her to Greater Noida and raped her”.

Officials said the driver took the cab to the deserted place in Greater Noida near Pari Chowk and allegedly raped the woman at gunpoint.

The accused also robbed the precious gold ornaments, mobile phone mangal sutra, Rs 12,000 in cash.

A case has been registered with Hauz Khas police station.
