Drone in Delhi airport: Flight services halted after pilot spotted Drone

Flight services at Delhi airport were temporarily suspended after a pilot spotted a drone in the area on Sunday.

After the operations were stopped two Air India flight were diverted, Official said.

An Air Asia pilot while coming from Goa reportedly spotted drone while landing at Delhi airport around 7.10 pm on Sunday evening.

The flight services and operations were suspended for around 40 minutes.

Airport Security Officials said that an emergency call was made that a suspicious item was spotted near cargo area.

In a statement, Sanjay Bhatia, Deputy Commissioner of Police at IGI Airport said, “We are verifying it. But the operations at the airport continued as normal and there was no delay in arrival or departure of flights”.

However, the services were resumed around 7.55 pm.
