Eight coaches of Mahakaushal Express derailed in Mohoba district of Uttar Pradesh around 2.30 am on Thursday.
As per the current reports, over 30 people got injured in the train accident. Mahakaushal Express runs between Jabalpur to Delhi.
Initially, DG (PR) of the Indian Railways said 22 people suffered injuries out which 19 were discharged from the hospital.
The derailment took place in between Mahoba and Kulpahad railway stations.
A rescue operation is underway whereas relief train had been rushed to the accident site. Following the mishap, the general manager of North Central Railway M C and other senior officials immediately visited the accident site.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath Yogi directed Health Minister Siddharth Nath Singh to visit accident site and to watch over the rescue operation. The Ministry of Railways issued helpline numbers at Jhansi, Gwalior, Banda and Nizamuddin stations.

The cause of the derailment is yet unknown. However, the investigation is going on.
Uttar Pradesh has witness number of train derailment incidents since November, last year.
