Former football player and BJP leader Nongthombam Biren Singh takes oath as the Chief Minister of Manipur at the Raj Bhawan in Imphal on Wednesday.
It has made history in the politics of Manipur as after 15 years, congress rule in Manipur come to an end for the first time, BJP has come to power in the north-eastern state.
Although, Y. Joykumar Singh from National People’s Party has taken oath as the Deputy Chief Minister at Raj Bhawan in Imphal.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi moved to twitter and congratulated Singh after he took oath as Manipur CM, “Congratulations to Shri N Biren Singh and his team on taking the oath. I am sure this team will work tirelessly towards Manipur’s development”.
