In another incident of cow vigilantism, a group of men allegedly thrashed five men on the suspicion of carrying beef in an auto rickshaw in Faridabad on Saturday.

It was reported that during the assault the men were shouting ‘Jai Hanuman’.

The self-styled cow vigilantes allegedly thrashed the auto-driver.

A member of BJP in Haryana said in a statement, “The police will do due diligence before filing the FIR. If any persons are caught carrying beef, then it is a case for the police”.

The family members of the victims have denied that they were carrying beef in an auto rickshaw.

Reports say the auto driver was brutally beaten when he refused to chant ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ and ‘Jai Hanuman’ which was directed by cow vigilantes.

The Faridabad police have registered a case against the victim under the state’s cow smuggling law.

A senior police official has assured that a case would also be registered on the complaint of the victims.

RSS Mohan Bhagwat said in a statement, “People who are criminal and involved in violent activities should be bothered about that (remarks from Supreme Court and PM Modi)”.

However, the lab reports which was sent by the police officials for testing confirms that it was a buffalo’s meat.
