The special CBI court on Wednesday issued a notice to Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son and former Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav for contempt of court.

It was believed that other RJD leaders were also issued a notice in connection with the contempt of court.

While speaking to the media, lawyer Arvind Singh said in a statement, “The CBI court of Shivapal Singh issued the notices asking why contempt should not be initiated against the four people for their statements issued after Lalu Prasad was convicted”.

It was learned that earlier the court has said that the quantum of sentence against Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad and others in connection with fodder scam will be pronounced on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Manoj Jha expressed his shock over the judgment and said, “It is shocking because none of us uttered a single word against the judicial process or the judgment”.

The CBI court has summoned them to appear in front of the court on January 23.

Prabhat Kumal legal counsel for Lalu Yadav said that all four has been issued notices as the court found their statements as contemptuous.
