On Thursday, Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray announced breaking of their 25-year-old partnership with Bhartiya Janta Party for the upcoming Municipal elections across Maharashtra.
Municpal election is scheduled to take place on February 21 and results will be declared on February 23, 2017.
While addressing the Rally in Suburban, Goregaon Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray said “We shall not go around with a begging bowl. We have wasted 25 years in this alliance. But no more. Shiv Sena will contest all the civic body elections independently and will not have an alliance with them (BJP) henceforth.”
Not only this he criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by calling it a “Gunda Party “ and also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over demonetisation.
It is reported that Shiv Sena will continue to be an alliance partner at the centre and in the Maharashtra state government.
