The district administration of Ghaziabad has issued show-cause notices to 18 schools seeking an explanation over the fee hike.
Under the show-cause notice, schools have been given 20 days to give their explanation. Following this no school will charge an annual fee, District Magistrate Nidhi Kesarwani said.
District administration has also asked the school to give details why they were charging tax on the annual fees.
The committee has taken this step to reduce ongoing tussle between worried parents and private schools over the hike in fees.
Not only this, the number of concerned parents staged a protest against 25 per cent hike in fee of private schools on April 13.
The protest was organized by Shiksha Bachao Abhiyan Samiti (SBAS) and All Schools Parents Association (ASPA).
The concerned parents had also submitted the memorandum to the district magistrate to take action strict against the owners of private schools.
