Gorakhpur: 42 children died in over two days

As per the recent reports, at least 42 children died in last two days at Gorakhpur’s BRD Medical College and Hospital, officials said.

In a statement PK Singh, the principal of BRD Medical College said, “42 children died in 48 hours of which 7 due to encephalitis, rest due to other reasons”.

It was discovered that nearly 1,250 children have died since January 2017.

After the amid protest over the death of children Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government has allegedly suspended the doctor.

Following this BRD principal, Dr. Rajiv Mishra and his wife were arrested by the Special Task Force on Tuesday.

It was further added, “The toll, if compared from the previous year, is less. Media is unnecessary making a hue and cry”.

According to reports, 200 children have reportedly died in this month in the hospital.

Although, a group of doctors from AIIMS hospital Delhi has moved to Gorakhpur hospital in support.

However, a FIR has been registered at the Hazratganj police station against the nine suspected in connection with the death toll of children which occurred due to lack of oxygen supply.
