Gurgaon: A Civil Hospital Left Minor Rape Victim Unattended for over 12 hours

A minor rape victim was left attended by a civil hospital in Gurgaon for more than 12 hours.

The case of negligence of a civil hospital came to light on Tuesday afternoon when a Child Welfare Committee chief reached the hospital after police informed about the case.

The child victim did not receive any medical treatment from the hospital over 12 hours.

The police had already registered a case of rape against the accused under various sections and arrested him on Wednesday.

The minor victim was brought by her mother on Monday evening after which the girl did not receive any first-aid from the hospital.

After CWC chief reached the hospital she found the girl in a very worst condition after which she called the doctors to attend the girl and start medication on an immediate basis.

According to CWC chairperson Shakuntala Dhull, the girl received the injuries in her private parts and was bleeding when she reached the hospital.

The incident came to light when the girl mother came back to home in the evening after completing her work as she works as a domestic helper in nearby colonies of her resident. She found her child limping after which she questioned her daughter.

After her question, the girl was remained silent for few minutes but later started crying.

Being a single parent her mother took her daughter to the nearby private hospital by thinking that her daughter might get injured somewhere but, later the doctors informed her about the rape.

The girl later revealed the things happened with her also said; she was threatened by the accused that he would kill her mother if she reveals the things to anyone.

According to the police officials, the girl has been referred to the Safdarjung Hospital and getting the proper treatment.

The accused has been identified as a 35-year-old neighbour of the victim who has been arrested by the police.
