Hyderabad: Infant selling racket busted, 6-year-old girl rescued

The sleuths of Special Operation Team (SOT) Rachakonda have reportedly busted the infant selling racket on Wednesday.

The Special Operation Team (SOT) has arrested six-member gang in connection with the infant selling racket.

It was reported that the police has arrested the culprits from Venkateshwara Swamy Temple in Saroor Nagar.

A team of police has rescued a six-day-old baby girl. The infant was later handed over to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC).

Police officials have identified the culprits as Kedavath Ravi, Kedavath Saroja, Vadithyavath Rukka, Mudavath Lakshman, Narsingh and Varithyavath Redya.

Following this, police have seized one car, four mobile phones, and Aadhar cards.

According to reports, the gang has bought the newborn for Rs. 15,000 from the poor tribal couple of Mahboob Nagar District.

However, a suo-moto case has been registered under the sections of 370(4) IPC, Sec 75, 81 of Juvenile Justice Act 2015 at the PS Saroornagar police station.
