Hyderabad: Woman burnt alive by husband for not clearing MBBS entrance exam

In a spine-chilling incident, a woman was allegedly burnt alive by her a husband in Telangana’s Hyderabad for clearing medical entrance exam on Sunday.

The incident took place near Rocktown Colony of LB Nagar, Telangana where a 24-year-old woman was reportedly burnt alive after she failed to clear the MBBS entrance exam.

The victim was identified as Harika, who hails from Khammam district of Telangana.

Harika’s mother said, “Since marriage, my daughter is living in a hostel as he was forcing her to study and crack MBBS. When we requested him to be together, he said he would live with her only if she secures an MBBS seat”.

It was reported that the woman was married to her cousin Rishi Kumar couple of years ago.

Victim’s elder sister said in a statement, “Rushi has extramarital affairs. He never cared for her. He only told that she washed clothes and was about to dry them, but suddenly she committed suicide. It is a planned murder”.

Although, the body was sent for the post-mortem.

However, Police has registered the case under the sections of 304(B) and 302 IPC. Meanwhile, the investigation is still in process.
