A journalist of leading Hindi daily, Dainik Bhaskar was shot to death by three unidentified assailants on Saturday morning in Sasaram.
The journalist was identified as Dharmendra Singh, was associated with Dainik Bhaskar, was standing at the tea stall in the morning when three unidentified men came on the bike and shot him from a point-blank.
Sources said Singh was standing at the tea stall close to his home in Amra Talab, a town in Sasaram where a bike came with three unidentified men and focuses the weapon towards Singh and fires at him. An eyewitness told the police that the correspondent got the wounds on his chest.
After that, the residents rushed him to the hospital where he was referred to Varanasi, where he was declared brought dead.
A FIR has been registered and police are investigating the case.
If reports are to be believed then, this is not the first case where the journalist was brought to death. Earlier this year cases has happened when journalist were killed by some or other mafia.
