According to the World’s Happiest Report 2017 by United Nations , India is at number 122 whereas Norway is the happiest country.
In the 2013-2015 report, India ranked 118 out of 155 countries. While India’s neighboring countries such as China is at 79, Pakistan attained 80th position, Nepal is on 99th and Bangladesh ranked 110.
Norway jumped four spot to become top scorer by replacing Denmark which was three-time top scorer.
The US is at 14th, notched down one spot from previous year because of rising number of social issues, the report said. The United Kingdom moved up four spots to 19th rank.
The unhappiest countries are Burundi (154), Tanzania (153), Syria (152), Rwanda (151) and the Central African Republic (155).
The report was unveiled at the United Nations on the occasion of International Day of Happiness.
