Indian Air Force has issued a notification for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 2017.

AFCAT is conducted for all the female and males who want to pursue their career in Indian Air force as Commissioned Officer in Flying and Permanent Commission (PC) / Short Service Commission (SSC) in Ground Duty (Technical) and Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches.

Application process for the course commencing from January 2018, started from December 3 and last date is for applying is December 29. So, interested candidates hurry fast as just only few days are left.

AFCAT job Details:

For Commissioned Officer :

  1. Flying (203/18F/SSC/M &W)
  2. Ground Duty (Technical) (202/18T/PC/ M, 202/18T/ SSC/M &W): Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) and Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical).
  3. Ground Duty (Non-technical) (202/18G/ PC/M, 202/18G/ SSC/M &W): Administration, Logistics, Accounts and Education.

Age Limit: Candidates age should be between 20-24 years for Flying, Upper age limit relaxation for Candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is upto to 26 years.

For Ground Duty technical and non technical should be in between 20-26 years, as on 01-01-2018.

Educational Qualification: 

Flying branch: Candidates should have completed Graduation (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline or BE/ B Tech degree (Four year course), With minimum marks of  60% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or or cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised University with minimum 60% marks or equivalent.

Ground Duty (Technical):

Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics)

Four year degree/ integrated Post Graduation Qualification University and with minimum 60% marks in aggregate including Physics and Mathematics & have passed or cleared Sections A and B examination cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the following disciplines :

Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering/Technology,Computer Engineering &Application, Computer Science and Engineering/Technology ,Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering,Electrical Engineering,Electronics Engineering,Technology,Electronics Science and Engineering, Electronics,Electronics and Communication,Engineering,Electronics and Computer Science, Electronics and/or Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics and/or Telecommunication Engineering (Microwave),Electronics and Computer,Engineering,Electronics Communication and Instrumentation Engineering,Electronics Instrument & Control,Electronics Instrument & Control Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering,Instrument & Control Engineering and Information Technology.

Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical)

Four year degree/ integrated Post Graduation Qualification University and with minimum 60% marks in aggregate including Physics and Mathematics & have passed  or cleared Sections A and B examination cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India, by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the following disciplines:-

Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering,Aircraft Maintenance Engineering,Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Automation, Mechanical Engineering(Production), Mechanical Engineering (Repair and Maintenance),Mechatronics and Industrial Engineering.

Ground Duty (Non Technical)

Candidates should have completed Graduation in any stream with minimum of 60% for accounts and logistics.

For accounts, candidate should have completed graduation in B. Com with atleast 60% and For Education

Candidate should have completed Masters in English, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Statistics, International relations, International studies, Defence studies, Psychology, Computer Science, IT/ Management, Mass Communication, Journalism Public Relation, MBA with minumum marks of 50%.
Selection Process: Candidates will be chosen on basis of Intelligence Test, screening test, Psychological, Group Tests following a personal interview.
