Indian origin woman jailed for abusing maid in Singapore

In a horrific incident, an Indian origin woman was sentenced to four months in jail for abusing and beating her maid on Monday.

The accused woman was identified as K. Rajakumari by the police officials.

It was reported that the 57-year-old K. Rajakumari has abused her maid in 2012.

Police officials told the media that the accused even hit her maid with latter with a plastic hanger until it broke.

Later, a policeman heard Rajakumari told Jeeva, “Please forgive me… please don’t tell anyone about the abuse”.

Following the incident, K. Rajakumari has reportedly apologized to her Indian national maid Sargunam Jeeva in Tamil and urged her not to tell anyone about the incident.

It was learned that Jeeva, Indian national came to Singapore in late January 2012.

Following this, K. Rajakumari allegedly picked the maid and she was to be paid 350 Singapore dollars. Officials told Jeeva cannot speak English.
