The low-cost airline Indigo on Friday suffered a major ‘engine failure’ carrying 174 passengers on board during taxiing at the Patna airport.
The spokesperson said, “There were 174 passengers on board. All passengers are safe”.
The flight IndiGo 6E 415 was carrying 174 passengers and dozens of staff members onboard when the mishap took place.
Soon after the pilot started the plane for takeoff, the engine caught fire, the official said.
Adding further to this official said, “The pilot was forced to use the emergency brakes and the tyre burst on the runway itself”,
It was reported that all the passengers were safely evacuated.
However, the incident was soon reported to the DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation).
