Ishaat Hussain is the new Interim Chairman of TCS replacing Cyrus Mistry

The Tata Group on Thursday announced its newly elected as an interim chairman for the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) replacing Cyrus Mistry with immediate effect.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is a group which is a unit owned by the Tata Sons.

Ishaat Hussain appointed as the chairman of TCS Board of Directors until a new head takes over the command. Hussain is associated with the Tata Group over two decades now.

“The company (TCS) has received a letter dated November 9, 2016, from Tata Sons Ltd nominating Ishaat Hussain as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company in place of Cyrus Pallonji Mistry with immediate effect. In view of this, Mistry has ceased to be the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company and Hussain is the new Chairman of the company”.”Hussain shall hold office as Chairman of the company until a new chairman is appointed in his place,” the company quoted in a regulatory filing.

Who is Ishaat Hussain?

  • Ishaat is a graduate in Economics from St. Stephens and also a member of Alumnus.
  • He is also a Chartered Accountant from Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (FCA).
  • He was anyway a name on the mind of the Tata Group and now is taken over to a new position of the interim chairman.
  • He was already a Director on the Board of TCS following the same position with several other Tata Group Companies like Tata Industries, Tata Steel, Chairman of Voltas and Tata sky.
