Jharkhand Coal scam: Madhu Koda awarded 3 years jail

As per the recent reports, a special court has sentenced Former chief minister of Jharkhand Madhu Koda three years in jail in connection with the coal block allocation case.

The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 25 lakh on Madhu Koda and Rs one lakh on Gupta on Saturday morning.

It was reported that last week, Former chief minister of Jharkhand Madhu Koda was convicted in a case scam case.

The special court has convicted Koda, Gupta and three others guilty of criminal conspiracy and corruption in the coal scam case on Wednesday.

It was learned that CBI has alleged the firm has applied for the allocation of Rajhara North coal block on January 8, 2007.

The special court has granted them to file an appeal within 60 days.

The case was registered under the sections of Sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy) read with 420 (cheating) and 409 (criminal breach of trust by public servants) of IPC and under provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act.
