At least three militants were reportedly arrested in an anti-militancy operation in Kund area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir on Thursday.
Police officials said they launched a joint operation in Kund area after getting inputs of movements of a group of militants of Lashkar in the area.
While addressing the joint Press conference with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muneer Khan said, “In the ongoing operation against militants in Kund area, we have arrested three local militants”.
The arrested accused was identified as Atta Mohammad Malik, Shams ul Wiqar, and Bilal Sheikh.
CRPF, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muneer Khan said in a statement, “Despite losing a soldier, we arrested three militants. More are believed to be hiding in the area”.
One of the injured accused was shifted to hospital for medical aid.
Adding further to this he said, “One of the militants Atta Muhammad Malik was taken to a hospital by the forces in a critical condition”.
