J&k: 3 soldiers injured in Pakistan shelling

At least three army Jawan was reportedly killed as Pakistani troops fired from automatic weapons at villages along the LoC areas in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district today.

It was reported that the Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire in Laam sector and started opened fire along the LoC, Police official said.

A Defence spokesman said in a statement, “Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics, and mortars from 0845 hours in Poonch sector along the Line of Control (LoC)”.

It was learned that five children were allegedly injured in the ceasefire.

A Defence Ministry official said in a statement, “Our people retaliated strongly and effectively”.

It was learned that in the firing along with the LoC, three Army jawans were reportedly injured.

The spokesperson said that three soldiers hail from the Naga Regiment, where they were shifted to the hospital.

Earlier this month, an Army jawan was reportedly killed when Pakistan Army violated the ceasefire along the LoC in Poonch.

In a further development, Poonch authorities have ordered the closure of all schools in the areas.
