The police have arrested two persons in connection with the smuggling of heroin worth Rs. 20 crore, weighing around 15 kilograms on Friday.
Police have arrested the two accused when the heroin packets were taken to Amritsar from Kashmir for selling.
IGP (Jammu Zone) S D Singh Jamwal said in a statement, “On a specific input, the police arrested the duo and seized 15 kg of high-grade heroin worth Rs 20 crore in the international market from them on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway at Nagrota here”.
The accused was later identified as Nisar Ahmed Bhat and Peer Abdul Mohmin, who hails from Baramulla and Kupwara districts of North Kashmir.
The seized heroin packets had a Pakistan marks on them, Police said.
