As per the recent reports, two army soldiers and two militants were allegedly killed in a gunfight near Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Wednesday.
It was reported that the gun battle took place between terrorists and security forces in Hajin.
Two militants were reportedly killed in the encounter.
The incident took place in the wee hours of Wednesday when a Special Operation Group of J&K police and Army conducted a search operation in Rakh-e-Hajin village.
Later, Defence Ministry spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia confirms the killing of two army soldiers.
The statement from Srinagar defense spokesperson reads, “In an intense operation in Hajin, Bandipora two terrorists were killed, Two Air Force Guard personnel were martyred in the action. The Garud personnel were operating with the army for operational experience and training. The Chinar Core Commander and all ranks salute the martyrs and offer condolence to bereaved families”.
The injured personnel was shifted to 92 Base hospital for further treatment.
Police officials said, one soldier was reported injured in the encounter near Paribal village.
The police sources said, “Three soldiers sustained injuries, two of whom were critical and later succumbed”.
