Justice Dipak Misra was appointed as the next Chief Justice of India and will sworn-in as 45th Chief Justice of India on August 27.
Justice Dipak Misra will be replacing incumbent Justice J S Khehar, who retires on retires on August 27.
It was reported that Justice Dipak Misra has Justice Dipak Misra has led the Supreme Court bench, which has confirmed the death of four accused in Nirbhaya gang-rape case.
He will be the third person from Odisha to be appointed as the Chief Justice of India.
He will be holding the post for next 13 months, till 2 October 2018.
