Bollywood film producer Karim Morani, who have produced many hit movies which also includes Chennai Express and Ra.One starring Shahrukh Khan, has been allegedly arrested in connection with rape case on Saturday.
The Bollywood producer has reportedly surrendered before the police after the Supreme Court yesterday denied his anticipatory bail in connection with molestation and rape case.
M Venkateswar Rao, Deputy Commissioner of Police said in a statement, “Morani surrendered before the Hayathnagar police around midnight. After completing legal formalities, he will be produced before a court today”.
It was learned that the case was filed against the producer on January 18 for raping a woman and promise for marriage.
Morani allegedly sexually assaulted the victim with false marriage promises.
The victim told the media, “I didn’t know what was happening nor did I know how to react. I was depressed and didn’t talk to anyone about it. When I spoke to his family, they did not even react. But now after going through so much, I felt the need to fight. And I am doing this on my own”.
It was discovered that the Bollywood producer Karim Morani is also been accused in the 2G scam case.
The victim has registered a complaint with Hayathnagar Police.
However,the case has been registered under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections of 417 (cheating), 376 (rape) 342 (wrongful confinement), 506 (criminal intimidation), 493 (cohabitation caused by a man deceitfully inducing a belief of lawful marriage).
