According to a KCVP (Kannada Chalavali Vatal Paksha) leader, the bandh had been called by around 2000 Kannada outfit. Also, they are getting the support from many other groups for protest.

The Education management of Karnataka had already taken an initiative towards bandh and postponed the undergraduate and postgraduate exams.

The bandh is already getting the huge support from the state government employees of Karnataka over the state bandh.

The Kannada protesting groups wants Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene over the Mahadayi issue and help them with the solution as Modi has scheduled his visit to Karnataka.

The bandh is all about to put pressure on the Centre government so that the government will take some initiative towards the implementation of Kalasa-Banduri dam project which would help the Karnataka districts in getting water from the Mahadayi River.

However, transport services will not be affected by the protest, both cab and buses would run normally.

The whole protest would take place till 6:00 am to 6:00 pm and will cover most of the cities of Karnataka. However, many of the places would be safe as well from the protest.
