The Karnataka government has reportedly transferred an IPS officer D. Roopa who has exposed the irregularities and corruption going inside the Bengaluru prison.
The government has issued a notice which says 2000-batch Indian Police Service officer is “transferred with immediate effect and posted until further orders” and will be given the post of Inspector General of Police and Commissioner for Traffic and Road Safety.
The order issued by the government reads, “D. Roopa, IPS (Karnataka 2000 batch), Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police, is transferred with immediate effect and posted until further orders as Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Commissioner for Traffic and Road Safety in place of A.S.N. Murthy, IPS, transferred”.
Roopa, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police has claimed that a special kitchen was functioning inside the Bengaluru prison for Sasikala.
It was reported that the Karnataka government has allegedly transferred four other senior IPS officers along with Roopa.
