In a shocking incident, a woman was allegedly shot dead by the terrorist in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday afternoon.
The woman who was shot dead was identified as Yasmeena hails from Khonmoh, and the injured was identified as Ruby, a resident of Seer Tral, a police official said.
Police said, JeM militant Noor Mohammad Tantray’s role was suspected in the attack.
Following the incident, security forces reached the spot and allegedly launched an operation to nab the militants in the area.
The official said, “Among them, an 18-year-old girl identified as Yasmeena daughter of Ghulam Rasool Bhat, a resident of the Khonmoh area was killed instantly while Rubeena, the wife of Mohammad Shafi Wagay and resident of Seer Jagir Tral was left injured”.
The injured woman was transferred to the hospital in Srinagar, where it was reported to be in a critical condition.
Sources told the police, that Yasmeena had gone to meet her sister Rubeena in Tral when militants allegedly fired at her.
The police told the media that the militants were believed to belong to terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad.
Zahid Malik, Superintendent of Police said in a statement, “They ransacked the house and fired in the air”.
