Kerala: JD-U leader quits Veerendra Kumar Rajya Sabha

As per the recent reports, Janata Dal-United leader M P Veerendra Kumar reportedly resigned as Rajya Sabha member on Wednesday.

Veerendra Kumar is the member of Congress-led UDF in Kerala has announced he would resign from the house, following his party’s alliance with the BJP in Bihar.

Arun Kumar Shrivastava, the JD-U leader, said in a statement, “He resigned so that no one questions his integrity that he is aligning with (Bihar Chief Minister and JD-U President) Nitish Kumar”.

It was reported that 80-year-old Janata Dal-United leader Veerendra Kumar has submitted his resignation to Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu.

It was learned that his resignation came after the speculations that he would switch allegiance to the ruling CPM-led LDF in Kerala.

Veerendra Kumar was the chairman of the JD-U’s Kerala unit.
