Kerala Transport Minister Thomas Chandy resigns over land grab charges

As per the recent reports, Kerala Transport Minister Thomas Chandy has allegedly resigned as Kerala’s transport minister on Wednesday.

It was reported that the Kerala Transport Minister Thomas Chandy resignation came after Kerala High Court dismissed Chandy’s petition challenging the report of the Alappuzha district collector after being alleged encroachments by a company.

After resigning from his position he said, “These are all trumped up charges. I will come out clean”.

The Kerala Transport Minister Thomas Chandy has handed over his resignation to the CM by NCP state president.

Thomas Chandy said in a statement, “The Chief Minister said we are not asking you to resign, but take a decision after consulting with your leadership”.

Reports say Thomas Chandy becomes the third minister to quit in the Pinarayi government which came to power in May last year.

Officials said that there are many allegations of land grab against Chandy.
