On the first day of its commercial run, more than hundred passengers were stuck inside the Lucknow Metro train on Wednesday morning.
It was reported that the Lucknow metro suffered a sudden halt due to some technical problem on Wednesday morning.
Following this, the passengers inside the coaches were left without light and air-conditioning for over an hour.
After an hour the passengers were evacuated through the emergency door, officials said.
The metro stopped near Mavaiya on its first commercial run which was opened for the public on Wednesday.
An LMRC official said in a statement, “There was some fault in this traction and we are working on it. All trains are playing on the other parallel track”.
It was learned that the passengers were excited for the first ride of the much-anticipated metro in Lucknow.
A team of Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) was rushed to the spot to rescue the passengers, who were left inside the metro without any electricity and air-conditioning.
While inaugural ceremony of the Lucknow metro Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath said, “The wait for traveling in the Lucknow Metro is over. The services will be opened for the public use from tomorrow. The metro service will help reduce air pollution in the state capital, in the long run, will contribute to savings in terms of money and time for the passengers.”
